グラステリアは2004年カリフォルニア州、
サンディエゴで誕生しました。南カリフォルニアの太陽と自然、ビーチカルチャー、アートなど様々な文化と
スピリットが溢れているビーチタウン Encinitas,Ca にて
設立されました。
スタジオガラスアートをコンセプトとして活動しているアーティストMAKOTO ANDOによるガラスアートカンパニーです。2006年からワシントン州シアトルへ移住、現代ガラスアートの最先端の地、ワシントン州タコマで現地の吹きガラススタジオで学んだスキルとアートショウ、ファーマーズマーケットなどでのGLASSTERIA として出展、販売の
マーケティング活動経験を活かし
2021年から新たに日本、故郷である鹿児島という土地から発信
ガラスART活動を再始動はじめました。

主にシアトルベネチアンスタイルの吹きガラス技法で作られた花瓶、ペイパーウエイト、タンブラー、スクラプチャーなどのアイテムがございます。
特にオンラインストアではガラスアートの盛んな土地ワシントン州シアトルで作り始めたフューズドガラス技法のカスタムジュエリーをメインに扱っております。

Hello! Welcome to GLASSTERIA's website.
GLASSTERIA was established in San Diego,
California 2004 by glass artist Makoto Ando. GLASSTERIA was an art active company that created and presented glass art from the heart of the beachside town Encinitas,California. In 2006, Makoto moved to Tacoma Washington, central Mecca of contemporary glass art and the origin place where he defined his practice in the art of glassblowing. GLASSTERIA traveled the west coast to exhibit and sell its glass pieces at art shows and
farmers markets, giving him the experience of trade and business in the art world. Since 2021 GLASSTERIA
has been reactivated and reestablished in Makoto's hometown of Kagoshima in southern Japan. His style of glass art carries on from his time in California and Washington which was a mixing pot of diverse culture, centred by the ocean and vibrant natural surrounds. The online store features a variety of decorative interior items such as flower vessels, tumblers and bowls that express this energy and beautiful spirit of glass. Also featuring is a range of jewelry created using a fused glass technique that Makoto developed during his time in Tacoma Washington. The design of jewelry composes fine organic cuts and myriad color patterns create textures that mirror inspiration from ocean, forest, sparkle of sun light and make each piece unique and one of a kind. The technical glassblowing skills involved are influenced by the Seattle-Venetian style of glassblowing, which has been inherited through the studio glass art movement from Seattle,Washington. His experience with this style led him to develop a passion for glass art. He shows his humble respects to the movement and is grateful to be able to continue and enjoy this passion as an artist in his art work.
